Text From Source: He was a Tory and fled to Canada. . . . Mrs Moores, was very sarcastIc in her conversations with the Tory neighbors and sometimes openly hostile to them. One of these, Isaac Dunham, would drop over the Moores occasionally, and appeared covertly pleased with the evidences of misfortune he saw at the old homestead. He always seemed to know when a raId had been made and availed himself of the first opportunity to calI on the afflicted household to rejoice in its sorrows. An emphatIc protest by Mrs. Moores, on one occasion, accompanied by vigorous demonstrations with various loose articles near at hand, caused Isaac to put his long legs in rapid motion with a mental resolutIon never to go near that dangerous woman again. He suspended his neighborly visits for an indefinite length of time. (History, First Presby. Church, Woodbridge, N.J., 300th Anniversary, p. 18.) Isaac Dunham, a native of New Jersey who joined the Royal army in 1776. In Audit Office 13:17 are a certIfied valuation of his estate by Asa Morris and Josiah Dunham, AudItor of Accounts of New Jersey, and an account of his confiscated estate, sIgned by the same Josiah Dunham. He was living on the Kennebecasis River, Province of Newbrunswick 1786. His cousin Daniel Dunham, and one John Dunham are mentioned. He was allowed £155 from his claim of £507. (Jones, pp. 67-8.) Children of Isaac may include Thomas and David. He is likely the Isaac Dunham who came to Saint John in 1783 as a member of Company 45, presumably on the Mary, as did David. Thomas does not appear on Bell's list, but on Wright's he is shown as being or having been with the army Engineering Department and as having gone on eventually to Upper Canada. Isaac received a town lot, P301, with David getting P293. Both were shown as "single" (unaccompanied by dependents) on victualling lists. All three later received land grants in King's County. Thomas is understood to have married Elizabeth Travis, and David to have married Mary Dunn.
