Note on Husband: Henry T. WILSON

The date of Henry's death is deduced by a comparison of available records. The dates and circumstances make it likely that Henry T Wilson, husband of Elizabeth Nelson and father of Henry R Wilson died in 1871 in Halifax.

I have seen the records for two Henry Wilsons in Nova Scotia in the mid 1800s, when his son was born there. Census records are spotty, but there seems to be one in Shelburne County with a farming family. One is recorded in Nova Scotia in 1827.

I also find two death records for a Henry Wilson in the late 1800s.

On 5 November 1866, the coroner records "That the deceased Henry Wilson came to his death by accidentally falling from the gangway between the ship Helen and the wharf in the Dartmouth Cove, into the water, and then drowned on Sunday the 30th October 1866." ( NSHVS Yr1864 bk1808 p3 no70 )

The Nova Scotia Directory for 1871 records the death of Henry Wilson in Nova Scotia in 1871. (p117) I use this date as it corresponds to the death record of Elizabeth Wilson in 1870 as married.
