FREEMAN, probably John, b England said to have drowned 1682 in the Delaware River at Philadelphia while unloading hIs goods mID Eng as her1Illus Ann who d bef 1 Apr 1720 She m24 Francis Walker who d before 1 Apr 1720 It has been stated in various articles and books that the immigrant was Joseph Freeman b 1639 pt 2 Oct 1639 St Mary at Hill London England and that his wife was Elizabeth Gosse. This is incorrect. It is possible that the immigrant was the eldest son of a Henry Freeman As will be seen later there is a naming pattern starting with the immigrant probably John who named his eldest son Henry, who named his eldest son John, who named his eldest son Henry, etc
