Note on Husband: Paul Ethridge FERGUSON - shared note
Dock was the favorite uncle of Opal Marie Ferguson-Ammerman. He was the closest to her age, and since they lived on adjoining farms, they went to the same one-room school. He walked with her and "looked out after her".
He moved to Montana after his marriage, and she missed him very much. He wanted her and Myrl to come there after they were married, but instead, they went to Chicago to be near to his brother. She always wondered how things would have worked out had they gone West instead of East.
Dock and Ruby had seven children. At least six of them were born in Montana. The oldest, Beatrice, was probably born in Adair County, Missouri.
Dock was a farmer. In his later years, he moved to California and bought an acreage there, according to Myron Ferguson, his nephew.
