Note on Wife: Mary RUNYON - shared note

Mary was not listed in the 1749 membership for the Hopewell Church when Rev. Isaac Eaton began keeping records. According to Monnette Mary and Benjamin were in the church records in 1715 and 1722-23. ("First Settlers of Ye Plantations, p 819)

On page 626, Monnette states:"It is strongly indicated that Mary became the (1) wife of Benjamin DRAKE b. ca. 1683, living 1740 and 1742, Hopewell, d. in 1763. (His) Will dated June 2, 1763, probated Aug 30, 1763, (ARCH., Vol. XXX, p 120) They joined church together in 1715 at Hopewell.

The date of Mary's death is unknown, although it had to be before 1749, as mentioned in the above statement regarding the recording of Church memberships in that year.

Mary was the seventh child of Vincent Runyon (Rognion) and Ann Martha Boutcher. (Monnette p 626)
