Note on Husband: Edmond DRAKE - shared note
According to Monnette, "First Settlers of Ye Plantations", Edmond was overseer of the Poor in Hopewell in 1762. His wife was named Rachel.
Edmond received his plantation from father Benjamin in 1763.
His will, dated 15 Jan 1767, Hopewell, and proved 3 Feb 1767, doesn't mention his wife. It names father; three brothers, Thomas, Nathan, and Daniel; son, Nicholas; daughters, Catherine and Elizabeth.
It orders his executor to sell his real estate at public sale and to pay the legacies ordered by "my father's will that remain unpaid"; and "my father's apparel to be divided between my three brothers, Thomas, Nathan and Daniel." Son, Nicholas, my apparel.
Executors: Ephriam Runyon and John Drake.
Witnesses: Jacob Stout, Azariah Hunt.
Inventory 2 Feb 1767 by Reuben Armitage and Azaraiah Hunt. (Arch. Vol 33 p 121)
